Invisible braces have been a desired alignment treatment for over 20 years. Those clear retainers that can be inserted and removed at any time, and are much less obvious than traditional braces. Invisiline, Invisalign, or Invisalign!? All over the globe, it is no secret that Invisalign is a reliable alignment innovation, widely preferred over traditional metal braces.

Invisalign Process

Patients who are exploring the market for Invisiline, Invisaline, or Invisalign braces should first understand how the process works.

To begin, you will consult with an orthodontist or dentist, who will examine your teeth and develop a plan for your Invisalign aligners. Doctor Firouz will provide a digital scan of your teeth for your personalized treatment plan.

Once the invisible aligners have been customized to perfectly fit your teeth, your Invisalign journey begins! For best results, aligners can be taken out for up to two hours a day. Enjoy your favorite foods, and brush and floss your teeth like normal.

Aligners typically last one to two weeks before teeth shift and require a new set. While you will continually get shipments with new aligners in the mail, you will only have to meet with your dentist every two months.

You can expect mild soreness the first few days, don’t worry! This means your teeth are shifting into position!

New Invisalign Solutions

Invisalign® First is the latest addition to Invisalign’s product line. These invisible braces cater towards baby teeth, so that younger kids now have an added head start in the teeth straightening process.

Insights in the orthodontic industry have proven that treatment between the ages of 6 to 10 is an optimal starting point. Invisalign refers to this stage of treatment as  Phase 1. It works well with your child’s development to straighten teeth as they grow in!

Invisalign® First

Parents of children in Phase 1 prefer Invisalign® First treatment for reasons that may seem obvious. Many patients have the intention of avoiding metal braces altogether.

Invisalign First works with the child’s growing mouth to provide alignment in potential alignment issues including arch development, expansion, tooth placement and direction. Overall, Invisalign® First has been designed to enhance the child’s smile.

Phase 1 is a distinctive time to begin the teeth straightening process because the jaw is still growing. Because of this, certain issues could be prevented from even happening.

Designed specifically for young children, Invisalign® First is only available for children. Teens and adults seeking invisible aligners should explore alternative options including Invisalign Teen, Invisalign Full, or Invisalign Express.

Dental Arch Expansion

Invisalign® First functions through the orthodontic process of dental arch expansion. The overall goal of dental arch expansion is to widen and adjust a child’s dental arch. Invisalign aligners will gradually push teeth in order to expand the width of the dental arch. Since this product caters towards young teeth, candidates include any child that may have crowded teeth or a narrow dental arch.

The initial consultation with the orthodontist is extremely important. Here, the doctor will take images, scans, and x-rays of the child’s teeth. The orthodontist will study their individual tooth and jaw structure in order to develop a completely personalized care plan for each patient.

Is my child a good candidate for Invisalign® First?

Invisalign® First provides a range of benefits for patients with growing teeth, hoping to get a jump start on the teeth alignment process. The process works for a variety of mouths, from narrow dental arches to crowded teeth. Because of this, parents can trust Invisalign® First as their child’s first set of invisible braces.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) advises children visit an orthodontist by the age of seven.

Designed specifically for the growing mouth of a pre-teen, Invisalign® First is the alignment solution for ages 6-10. A consultation with a dentist or orthodontist will confirm this is the best choice for your child.

New Patient Services

In the age of modern orthodontics, we are fortunate to have different options of clear aligners. Not only will aligners straighten up your smile, but they are also less obvious and demanding than traditional braces.

Before deciding on which type of clear braces to commit to, do some research on the available options to determine the price, process, and outcome of each.

Invisalign®

Known as the first set of invisible aligners, Invisalign® is commonly preferred by adults over traditional braces.

To begin the Invisalign process, you must first consult with a professional dentist or orthodontist. The dentist will install attachments on two teeth for the Invisalign trays to snap into place. Your trays and retainers will be regularly monitored and adjusted throughout the process. In the event that something breaks or is not fitting, simply consult with your dentist or orthodontist.

Since Invisalign procedures require the oversight of a professional, the average cost ranges from three to six thousand dollars, depending on insurance.

SDC or Smile Direct Club

SDC is a do it yourself clear aligner system that is designed for easy cases such as minor alignment or minor spacing corrections. It is a very limited treatment without ongoing supervision of an orthodontist. Patients will not have a specialist to contact if they have any questions or concerns.

Invisalign uses a much more advanced material for their clear aligners and their digital platform is superior to any other clear aligner system. Also, with Invisalign we have the option of placing buttons, or attachments, use elastic bands, reshape the teeth as needed, for a much more precise and better and faster results. SDC does not have any of those options available.

SDC fees are cheaper, however, there is no comparison between what Invisalign is capable of correcting vs SDC.

Important Considerations of Clear Aligners

Smile Direct Club is an example of a cheaper, more independent treatment with clear aligners. Everything can be shipped to your house, and you do not need to consult a professional. However, the outcome of using these invisible braces or something similar is less reliable than Invisalign, since there is no oversight from a professional. This means that in the end, your teeth might not be as straight as they could have been with Invisalign or traditional braces.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. If a clear aligner company is advertising a cheap cost for straighter teeth, it probably means the process itself is cheap, and thus, less reliable. At Firouz, we offer a free consultation about Invisalign® and your teeth straightening options. Let us help you make an educated decision about invisible braces!

Traditional braces can be a major life adjustment, as they are very visible and hard to ignore. Invisalign® clear aligners, on the other hand, straighten teeth while being transparent, plastic, and subtle. This option is especially popular in adults who need bite adjustment. Firouz Orthodontics is a partner with Invisalign® to ensure our patients receive optimal dental care.

Invisalign® Treatment Process invisalign positioning

The Invisalign® treatment process is safe, easy, and can be broken down into four simple steps.

  • Consult with a dentist about the option of Invisalign®. Before your personalized scan, you will need to make sure this is the best teeth straightening treatment for you.
  • Get a personalized scan of your teeth from your dentist. All patients’ mouths are different. Overcrowding, gaps, crossbite, overbite, and underbite are all possible factors of crooked teeth. Develop a personalized plan for your teeth treatment.
  • Clear aligners are custom made in SmartTrack® material. Each patient’s personalized scan tells the system how to cut the aligners. They are made of a specialized material and trimmed to perfection.
  • Pick up your Invisalign®! On the first day of your Invisalign® treatment, you will try on the clear aligners with your dentist. This appointment will determine if your Invisalign® fits properly, and allow you to ask your dentist any questions you have.

When it comes to invisalign there is a lot of false information out there. At Firouz Orthodontics we are committed to providing professional orthodontic services at affordable pricing. Below are  some  invisalign facts and other important information you might want to consider when leaning toward Invisalign.

Important Invisalign Facts

Invisalign Price / Invisalign Cost

Contrary to common belief, Invisalign is quite affordable. The price has come down significantly and it is now covered by all insurances. The invisalign price range can be as low as $2000 for a minor correction with Invisalign express, to $6000 for a complete case which includes up to five years of aligners!

Invisalign Express Treatment

smile direct club vs invisalign

Invisalign Express refers to any treatment which requires anywhere from 5 to 10 sets of upper and lower aligners, versus unlimited aligners for a full case. The treatment is generally short, which is about 6 months and the cost is about half of a full Invisalign case. The same technology is used to treat patients with Invisalign Express and it is generally the treatment of choice for mild spacing and mild crowding.

Invisalign Retainers or Clear Retainers

They are the latest generation of retainers which are both cosmetic and clear. The cost of these retainers is the same as the traditional wire and acrylic retainers. They also offer an additional advantage  by doubling as a thin and comfortable night guard for those patients who clench and grind their teeth when they sleep.

Ceramic Braces and Clear Braces | Clear Braces Cost

Ceramic or clear braces are often used when difficult bite corrections are required beyond the scope of Invisalign. Clear braces or ceramic braces are bonded on the teeth and are as effective as metal braces with a much more cosmetic appearance. They generally cost slightly more than metal braces and are equally effective and very cosmetic. The newest clear braces are made of a sapphire crystal and are glass like and not very noticeable. There are Teflon coated white wires which complement clear braces.
